Absolutely Mental

In a stroke of good luck and opportune timing, we managed to land a career highlight at Feral by helping to deliver the Absolutely Mental podcast by Sam Harris and Ricky Gervais. It's still hard to believe a few years later, but as a longtime fan of Making Sense it was a real privilege to be involved with this.

Fans of Sam will know that he values the autonomy of his platform above all else, making the challenge of this project delivering a custom subscription & podcasting platform from scratch that would work on day-1, for 10,000s of customers.

As the tech lead, I was responsible for investigating existing potential paid platforms, championing a custom-built alternative, building it and making sure it worked when the floodgates opened and Ricky Gervais Tweeted it to his millions of subscribers.

By far the most challenging and public-facing project I’ve been a part of, it thankfully went off without a hitch, with 2 follow-up seasons and millions of downloads.
